DOF Subsea Brazil was established in the summer of 2006 as part of DOF Subsea's
strategy to expand its presence to all major offshore regions. The office and
base facility are located in Macaé, the oil capital of Brazil, approximately three
hours north of Rio de Janeiro. Arvid Pettersen is the General Manager.
Brazil is considered a key geographical area. Initially, the company focused
on ROV construction support services but is expanding to offer all DOF Subsea services
including offshore survey, IRM, construction support and
subsea engineering.
Through the DOF Subsea Group, DOF Subsea Brazil has access to 23 offshore vessels,
25 ROV systems with depth ratings up to 4,000 metres and a Hugin 3000 AUV system,
recognised as the premium system for deepwater, high resolution seabed mapping.
Together with Norskan Offshore Ltda, the company has already been awarded a four
year ROV contract with Petrobras onboard the vessel ‘Norskan Botafogo’. The contract
uses state-of-the-art ROV technology to fulfil client requirements in water depths
of up to 3,000 metres. The installation includes a Perry Triton XLS with 150 Hp
system and active heave-compensated LARS.
DOF Subsea Brazil is looking forward to the delivery of a new construction support
vessel in summer 2008. The vessel, which is being built in Brazil, will provide
exciting opportunities in an important market and will be key to expanding the
company’s activities in the region.
As part of the worldwide group of DOF Subsea companies, DOF Subsea Brazil can
provide the market in this region with a wide range of services and equipment
directly, or by utilising DOF Subsea's resources to ensure successful completion
of the most challenging and demanding projects.
